Milestone 1
The badges and competencies expressed in Student Success should reflect the values and goals of the community. Before defining these badges, we HIGHLY recommend schools hold engagements to learn about these values and goals. These engagements can be incredibly important to the entire process.
Running or managing a community engagement is beyond the scope of this playbook (or Abre!). There are a number of organizations that do provide this service (Battelle being one of them). Alternatively, many schools have internal structures to run these engagements.
That said, community engagement is the first step (and milestone) in implementing Student Success.
