How does Abre AI work? This article covers a brief overview.
Short Tutorial
Overview
As a member of the AI Alpha participant group, you will now see a ‘Search with AI’ button across the top of your Insights app. Clicking on this button will open the AI Query interface.
When the AI dashboard opens, you will see a few things. The first is the banner across the top of the window which reminds you that this tool is in the Alpha testing stage and not released as generally available software yet. Since it is in the Alpha stage, please be aware that you may encounter unexpected results which we are very interested in learning about.
The AI Query Screen
The primary focus of Alpha stage software is testing and feedback. We highly value your input, so please share it with us freely. While there will be planned engagement opportunities with the Abre team during the Alpha cycle, don’t feel limited to these sessions. We welcome your thoughts, reactions, and comments at any time.
At the top of the screen, you’ll notice the worksheet selector and the query prompt input field. The AI dashboard opens with Enrollment as the default worksheet. You can choose from four available worksheets to ask questions: Enrollment, Assessment, Attendance, or Behavior. Type your question in the query prompt input field. To help you get started, we’ve provided a list of suggested questions for each worksheet.
Best Practice
We recommend starting with simple questions and gradually increasing complexity as you review the results. If a question doesn’t yield results, compare it to a previous, successful question. Identify the differences between the two and try rephrasing your new question.
Things to Consider
Clarity is key in your wording. Avoid ambiguous terms like “achieved,” “success,” or “struggling.” Refer to the worksheet data schema document to clarify field references when possible. We’ve defined synonyms for some fields that you can use in your prompts. If you think of additional helpful synonyms, please include them in your feedback.
Note that during the Alpha testing phase, the data isn’t updated regularly. It will initially remain static. As we progress through the Alpha cycle, we’ll begin refreshing the data in the AI tool. We’ll keep you informed about these updates so you know when you’re working with current data. However, in the initial weeks while you’re familiarizing yourself with the tool, the data won’t be current.

Reminder of Who to Contact
Your primary points of contact during the Alpha cycle are Mike Moore ([email protected]), our Product Manager, and your Customer Success Manager (CSM). Feel free to reach out to both of them whenever you have questions or encounter problems. Mike will contact you for feedback on your experience, and together with your CSM, will schedule feedback sessions, distribute a survey, and coordinate a collaborative working session.
If you experience technical issues with the AI query tool during the Alpha cycle, report them directly to Mike and cc your CSM. Mike will coordinate the response and resolution outside the normal support channel. Once the AI tool is generally released to all clients next year, any issues you encounter will be handled through the standard support channel.
