2. What Can Families do in Abre?

Abre is a broad and expansive platform. Customers who grow with Abre find that they can share Abre with their families and have those families only go to one place to find what they need from schools. Granted, this might not happen in the first year of adoption. But assume that a school has fully adopted Abre. What can a family member do?

Know Everything About Their Student

The Student360 is available to families. The Student360 brings (nearly all) information about a student into one location.

Multiple Views of the Student360 From Family Perspective

Profile Information

For example: contact information, schedules, attendance, electronic cumulative files, etc.

Portfolios

Work a student builds over their time at school.

All 3rd Party Assessments

State assessments, iReady, MAP, ACT, SAT, etc.

Behavior

If a school uses Abre’s behavior app.

Grades

Abre can import grades from other gradebooks (assuming the correct Schema is applied). Better yet, Abre features its own grade book.

Wellness

Surveys from students on how they’re doing.

Forms

Forms completed by students and the family member.

Partners

Mentors and partners who help students grow.

Education Plans

Both created in Abre and imported from 3rd Party Systems.

Payments

For schools that use Abre’s Payment App, all payments are recorded in a central location.

Receive Communications

Family members can receive communications from the school and district via Announcements and Headlines. Announcements can be sent via the Abre App, email, or text message.

Additionally, for schools that use the Abre Class App, families can see teacher-to-class communications.

Participate in Learn Opportunities

Abre’s Learn App allows schools to create autonomous, asynchronous learning experiences for all stakeholders. These experiences can be gamified and tracked. For example, a school district may create a Learn Course that shows families how to apply for the FAFSA. Or courses on how to help their students wresting with anxiety.

Find Community Supports

The Partners App allows families to find external supports for their student (or even themselves). Common examples:

  • Tutoring Supports
  • Internships and Apprenticeships
  • Counseling
  • Food Security
  • Tier 2 and Tier 3 Intervention Groups

Complete Forms

With Abre Forms, schools can collect data from families.

Participate in SSIS Assessments

Some schools elect to use a thrice-a-year SSIS Assessment that reports on SEL competencies. The assessment is multi-informant. Family members can participate.

Complete Payments

Abre’s payment app is a simple and clean way to collect payments from families.
