6. Set Up Topics (Milestone 3)

For every Class, you can organize Activities by Topic.

What is a Topic?

A Topic is a way to categorize and organize the activities in a class. Every activity can be tagged with a topic.

Topics take a bit of forethought. As a teacher, how would you like to organize your activities? By theme? By date? By Standard? You have a good deal of freedom with topics.

An Example for Using Topics

The simplest way to use topics is to go chronological. Let’s say I teach social studies with 9 week quarters. I would organize my topics as so:

  • Week 1 (Sept 1-7) Activities
  • Week 2 (Sept 8-15) Activities
  • Week 3 (Sept 15 – 22) Activities
  • Etc.

You can set the order (via drag and drop) of topics and how it appears on the activity page.

Tip!

If you use Topics chronologically, you can always “drag and drop” the “Active Week” to the top so that your students don’t need to scroll to find their most recent activity.
